There is a commonly held misbelief about what the life of a Jesus-follower will encounter. One contributing factor to this confusion are teachings from people, bearing some title that would seem to make them an authority on the subject, that promote what is commonly defined as the prosperity gospel. In short, "give your life the Jesus, and everything in your life is going to be amazing." The problems with that teaching are numerous. First is makes faith about you not Jesus, and additionally it's inconsistent with Jesus' life, the life of the disciples who were martyred, and it's inconsistent with what Jesus promised, which is a life that has trouble because of our faith in Him. Today, we'll set the record straight for why we rejoice in both our successes and our struggles, for both are part of the life of a follower of Jesus.
